Would you and your church like to break new ground in evangelism and church planting? Would you consider sending a team to Bolivia to help committed Bolivian Christians realize the vision God has given them? Campus Crusade for Christ, South America invites you to send a team from your church to partner with our JESUS film teams and local pastors to help plant a new church and in the process see the lives of your church members changed forever as they see first hand God’s hand at work. The Vision For many years Campus Crusade for Christ has partnered with dozens of mission organizations and denominations to show the JESUS film, a realistic account of the life of Jesus Christ taken from the book of Luke. We have seen hundreds of thousands of people respond in faith to receive Christ as Savior. Through the years we have seen the need to provide pastors with the tools they need to follow-up the flood of new believers. Partnering with Faith Comes By Hearing, a global ministry committed to recording the Bible in dramatic form, Campus Crusade for Christ in Bolivia has pioneered a new church planting and follow-up system. Using the JESUS film and other creative evangelism strategies, people hear the Gospel and respond in faith. The new believers are gathered into new cell groups committed to meeting once or twice a week to listen to the recorded Word of God in their own language. Although many, even a majority, of people in Bolivia are literate, they are not at a reading level that makes fluent reading of the Bible possible. Gathering together in groups to hear the recorded Word of God has made a tremendous difference in the lives of the new believers. Much higher percentages of new believers are staying in the church and growing in their faith. Campus Crusade for Christ, the Bolivian Bible Society and Faith Comes By Hearing are committed to multiplying this effective model throughout the country among all the major language groups: Spanish, Quechua, Aymara, Guarani, and Low German. The vision is to plant hundreds of new churches which honor Christ, depend on the Word of God, reach out with the Gospel, and welcome new believers. The Opportunity Your church can partner with Campus Crusade for Christ and a local Bolivian pastor to plant a new church in a neighborhood that desperately needs a lighthouse. Your team of 10-25 will be involved a wide range of activities: 1. Providing a place: Working with local craftsmen, your team will erect a semi-permanent tent structure or a tin roofed brick structure that will hold 120 people. You may also remodel a rented space 2. JESUS film showings: Your team will go out nearly every evening to areas near the new church to show the JESUS film. Between reels of the film your team members will share their own story of knowing Jesus (with translation). Your team will see dozens, if not hundreds of men and women, boys and girls, put their faith in Jesus. 3. Activities for children in schools and neighborhoods: You can design a wide variety of activities to reach out to children. The youth from one U.S. church brought a complete puppet program that the Bolivian kids loved! As you reach out to children you will invite the parents to come back for the evening showings of the JESUS film. We have lots of ideas to help you. 4. Neighborhood Evangelism: Your team will be involved in direct evangelism using the Four Spiritual Laws or your own strategies to reach people in the neighborhoods surrounding the new church. We have had music and Tae Kwan Do teams, for example. The People The Bolivian people are open to the Gospel. The Bolivian Christians you will work with are very warm friendly people. Your church members will go back to the U.S. with new relationships that will last a lifetime. The Details Cost: Airfare from Miami averages $850. Airfare from other U.S. cities averages $1200. Your food and lodging will run $15-25 per day per person. Another $5 per day will cover your transportation and other expenses. In addition, your team will raise $8000 to fund the structure, pay for materials and JESUS film equipment, and contribute to the annual support of the Jesus film project worker who in turn will go on to help plant more churches. Location: Our projects are throughout Bolivia: Santa Cruz, Cochabamba, El Alto, Sucre, Montero. We will give you details about climate and city and help you make a choice. Housing: There are many options ranging from a local mission complex to nearby hotels. Dates: Our work is year-around! We can normally only handle one team on the ground in Bolivia at a time, so we will need to coordinate schedules well in advance.
